Electronics/ Silicone Rubber Keypads

Many of the plastic housings we make require silicone rubber keypads.  They are made by a compression moulding technique and the tooling cost is relatively low compared to injection moulding.

A typical keypad will have a Shore A hardness of about 50.  More about this can be found on our Plastics/Injection Mouldings - Soft & Flexible page.

Because it is inert and very flexible, silicone rubber is also used in other applications like grommets and seals for waterproofing.
